Catalytic Converter Stolen From Car At Walmart Parking Lot In Region

It took thieves just minutes to steal a catalytic converter from a car parked in a  Massachusetts Walmart, police said.

In Worcester County, police in Sturbridge received a report on Thursday, March 24 of a suspicious Volkswagen GTI that allegedly stole the part from a car at Walmart on Charlton Road in broad daylight.

According to investigators from the Sturbridge Police Department, the Volkswagen entered the parking lot from the driveway closest to the Stop & Shop at 4:01 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.

Police said that two suspects - believed to be male - wearing dark-colored clothing exited the Volkswagen and stole the catalytic converter from a Honda Accord that was parked between the front entrance and garden center of Walmart.

The suspects were then seen fleeing the area at 4:08 p.m. leaving the same way they entered the parking lot in the direction of Stop & Shop.

Investigators said that there were multiple witnesses seen in the area on surveillance video of the parking lot.
